Hello all,
Just wondering if the Azteeg x3 is a suitable replacement for the x5 mini because Panucatt is out of stock right now and it seems as if they have been out of stock for a while now. Any differences between the controllers that is significant or notable.
Thanks for any help on advance, Joey

Yes, any board made for 3d printing/cnc should work. If im not mistaken, the x3 is ardiuno based so the set up will be different from the x5. The x5 uses smoothieware. Check out the smoothieboards, they are pretty nice.

Correct Ted, a smoothieboard would be a more direct replacement as it runs on the same firmware, just a different form factor. I would definitely recommend a smoothieboard over the x3 for that reason, but there are some other 32 bit options out there that run smoothieware which you may be able to dig up!

Looks like Panucatt has the X5 mini v2.0 available for preorder now. Uses different stepper driver capable of 1/128 microstepping and has two fan mosfets.
