Man,
I love the Eclips3d printer design, just finished deciding current size and was about to order parts, but just seen you tube update about a new design in progress. Should I wait or build, what todo grrrrr
how far along are we designing it? I'm sure it would be worth it though. one little suggestion from me.
The inventor design, could it be configured for a user to input required build size and it recalculates component sizes?

The new design is pretty baller I must say. However, it still hasn't even been prototyped yet and most likely won't be until the end of the summer. That means Beta units likely won't ship until the end of the year and production units until early 2017, so it is still a ways away. If you can wait and don't mind spending a little more, it may be worth the wait. Otherwise the Eclips3D is still an awesome printer!
I believe there may be a way to do that in Inventor, however because of the number of machined parts in the design is just wouldn't really be feasible unless DIY'ers have access to a fairly large CNC mill. You'll see what I mean when I release the design overview video soon!

Thanks for the info dude, I can't wait to see what you have come up with, but after seeing your eclips3d compared to many others i'm sure it will be super solid :-)

The rails based machine is worth waiting for IMHO. The new design looks to be a real winner.
