I have the complete kit as specified. However to save money and avoid costly replacement if I blow up a controller, I am trying to use a Arduino MEGA with Ramps 1.4. I went through all of the control settings in Marlin and took my best shot. Configured to Core XY, activated RepRapdiscount Graphic display. Everything works. However the X and Y axis' are reversed and all of the motors run the opposite direction in Repetier. Reversing the motor directions ,and switching x and y in repetier has no effect. Flipping one of the x or y connectors has no effect. Switching the x and y connectors has no effect. Was going to try changing settings in Marlin, but am not confident this will do anything. This is my first 3d printer build and am using this as a learning experience. I'm sure I'm missing something simple. Any advice would be appreciated. Also if anyone has a working Cura file for this configuration, so I could see where I am going wrong.

Direction of the motors should be changed in the firmware. you need to look for "#define INVERT_X_DIR" and set to TRUE or FALSE this will invert the direction of x, do the same for Y. re-flash and try again.
If the head is constantly moving diagonally, then you need to make sure that both steppers are actually working, so remove the belt off of the motors and step the x motor and y motor separately so you can ensure that both are indeed moving.
Good luck! and if you get it working be sure to post the firmware if others should take this route. I also have a ramps, but just have not got around to setting it up with the Eclips3D

Thanks. That's where I was going next. No diagonal movements. X and y motors are doing what they're supposed to, only in the wrong directions.

This is some time ago, did you solve it all, and how is it working with a ramps board?
