So finally getting back to finishing my build, I might have run into an issue. I think my X-endstop might be faulty, but wanted to check up with you all to see if that might be the case. When I have all of the axises zeroed. The 4 lights on the smoothie board are lit up. But as soon as I jog the x-axis away, the endstop sensor turns off and completely turns everything off. I went and double checked the wires and they are perfectly fine and in working order. I even switched out this particular endstop with what seems to be a working one and it seems to be ok.Just wanting to confirm that it's definitely a faulty end stop and not something else that I night be doing wrong.

Sounds like your wiring is in the wrong order or the endstop is plugged in backwards. Usually the board resets when there's a short or you send the power the wrong way. If you double checked your wiring and you're sure everything is going to the proper slot, then it very well may be the endstop. I believe you ordered through me, so shoot me an email or message me through the contact form and we can arrange for a replacement to be shipped!

Indeed I confirmed it's a faulty endstop. I'll make sure to send you an email in a day or so also need to make sure I make a small list of missing bolts and nuts for you.

Just wanted to mention something I ran into regarding the end stops. I encountered shorting from the end stops but determined it was caused by the washer. It was bridging from the connector to the switch and shorting the switch and ultimately causing the board to shut down. I removed those washers completely and have not encountered the issue since.

Ohhh, let me check that out tonight, maybe that's the cause.

all3dprinting Seems you were right. Looks like the metal washer was causing a short in the endstop. All's good and continuing with finishing this build.

Excellent! Glad it worked for you, my printer was actually up and running with no issues at first, then after a few prints it just started turning off randomly (so it was the washer was close and then after a couple homes it started shorting)... so had to take it all the electronics apart to see what the cause was... but it took me a while to figure out.
