I have movement and all end stops are working. Was going to throw some goode on the SD card and try a test cube, but the VIKI does not seem to want to see the file. The card shows up and I can select it but when I click on it there is no file showing to select. Any ideas??
Thanks! Rock

For me, I use the card plugged into the control board, have you tried that? Turn the printer off, unplug the card, save to it, and reboot with it inserted? that might be able to tell you if the printer can see the specific files at all as something it can use (won't show the config or firmware files). Also, what program are you using for the files? What are they being saved as?

I am using Simplify3d and saving as gcode to the sd card. will have to do some digging on the 'ole interweb to see if I can find a way to print from the sd card in the viki lcd. Cheers, Rock

Hey! I have an update on your problem. I did some looking into the config file, and found this line in the viki lcd portion
panel.external_sd.sdcd_pin 1.31!^ # sd detect signal (set to nc if no sdcard detect)
Basically, that '!' in the line is telling the printer to ignore the card, and act as if the screen doesn't have a slot at all. After I removed that, I was able to see the card (labeled Ext in the play option), and view the files on it. I didn't try printing from there, but I don't see why it wouldn't.
Good luck, and I hope this solves your problem. Let me know if there's any other road blocks for you!

What does your entire config for that area look like? Mine is set to this.
panel.external_sd.spi_channel 1 # set spi channel the sdcard is on panel.external_sd.spi_cs_pin 1.23 # set spi chip select for the sdcard panel.external_sd.sdcd_pin 1.31!^ # sd detect signal (set to nc if no sdcard detect)
If I put a card in the slot, I see Ext show up, but the file list is always empty. My display shows this.
.. ext/ sd/
But under the ext directory all I see is
..
Any ideas?

Hm that's odd, you should always be able to print from the main sd card. Are you saving the files as .g or .gcode? Try the opposite one and maybe that will work for you.

Any updates on this? I still cannot use the SD card slot on the LCD, and the write speeds over USB to my card are EXTREMELY slow. It takes at least 10 times longer to write to the card in the printer, than if I pull it and put it into a SD card reader on the front of my PC. I had the same speed issues with my old Eclips3D as well. I wonder if there is an updated driver for the SD card reader that I need to install? But if I could use the front slot, then that would work way better than trying to pull and get the card reinserted every time I have a larger file to print. Thanks!

Here is what I am dealing with. Trying to write 62mb in 2 files yields stupid slow speeds. This is through the USB connection to the printer. I haven't gotten any usable info yet as to why this is happening. Different SD cards makes no difference. I'm using a SanDisk brand card now. Any ideas?

I Think the USB controller on the Azteeg is the issue here? It may be time to contact Panucatt and see if their tech support can lend a hand?

I believe this just has to do with the chip they use and how it handles usb communications, unfortunately I don't think there is much that can be done about it. I know the newer smoothieboard that is supposed to be coming out has improved sd write speeds over usb, but for the rest of the arm boards (not sure about duet) I think this is just a fairly standard limitation
