My Hotend turns on when I power up the printer. Is this normal? Happens with Repetier and Pronterface.

The hotend should not heat up until given the command to go so. Either manually, by you, or as part of the print job.

I'm having the same issue, and the controller doesn't respond to commands within repetier to move the motors, change the fan speed, or change the hot end temperature. Using an azteeg x5 mini 2.0.
ADDENDUM: I tried the supplied config files for the 2.0. The motors now move (but I need to set it up for coreXY). The fan speed still cannot be changed, and the hot end temperature still just escalates upward with no stopping.

Hmm ok so it seems as though I may need to set up a firmware version for V2.0. If a few other people who have 2.0 boards could chime in and let me know if this is the case I'd greatly appreciate it!

I also am having problems getting V2 to work. My problem is no motor response.

So has there been any headway made for anybody else having the hotend issue?

Just wondering, because it'd be nice to not have my printer try to set itself on fire.

Yeah, I had tried it when I made my second post. Still trying to burn itself down.
