Howdy gang, happy to say I got my printer built and have started to get some test prints going. Of course one of the first prints I started with was the 3dbenchy. And a quick issue came out of it.
As you can see in the video, especial towards the end. The nozzle is completely digging into the model. I've used 2 different slicers, to make sure it wasn't a slicing issue. At this point it's pretty safe to say it's mechanical. What could be wrong? Did I set something incorrectly?
Thanks for the help ahead of time.

it could be possible that your Z-Axis wire isn't seated on controller firm enough, so that when the printer is moving, it moves the Z wire just enough to un-seat it off the controller and thus stopping z from moving down.
another possibility might be the Z coupler, maybe you didn't tighten the set screws and it free spins without turning the threaded rod.

I went and triple checked the wiring seemed to be a-o-k there and the z-coupler is on really tight. Do you think there might be a chance that I was sent the wrong lead screw? it fits through the nut plate just fine. Is there possibly a setting that's incorrect?

I don't think so, by the looks of it, it prints fine but then at some point the z stops moving. Does it stop at the same spot all the time? Does it ever finish a print, meaning it just randomly stops.
maybe cycle the z-axis up and down in repetier.... all the way down, and then home it.... see if there are any indications of stopping on the way up or down.

Well figured it out and it's a good lesson to be learned. It was happening due to a couple of reasons. First one, didn't have the fan hooked up. As soon as I got that working it was no longer digging into the walls of the print. Second part, was speed. Well too much of it. I was printing it at 70mm/s. Never gave enough time for the previous layer to cool off and shrink. Soon as I got the fan blowing and slowed it down. The print came out pretty damn good. Just need to tweak some settings. At this point, this is one awesome machine.

Me too. It's all new issues to be aware about. My old printrbot was just a slow machine. Now that I have a speed demon. New things to learn and be aware about
