So far, after some moderate tweaking, I've gotten good results form my PLA prints. I'm still changing some of the settings to get things dialed in just right, but as it stands, this printer is out performing its price range by far I started with good old benchy in a wood infused PLA, as you can see, everything came out great. there is some slight drooping of the overhand in the archway, but other than that, it is a stunning print (that I plan on wood staining later...) Next was a Benchy stand in semi-transparent blue. This was perfect through and through, and all overhangs were made without support. This was a punch out card style Christmas ornament that also came out well. Here I had mis-leveled the bed, so the bottoms weren't as pretty as they could be, but otherwise it was great.

Next was another test print, this one by MAKE magazine. I used just a skirt to prime the nozzle, and let it go till it completed. All parts were stunning, save for the archway. About half way up, it snapped free from the buildplate, and started printing in air... did well for doing that though. Another card ornament for my kids, which they love. This one I wanted to test speed, so the lines and detail were a bit choppy. I printed it at 85mms on average, so it wasn't bad for pushing it. (both cards I didn't clean up when i put them together, just popped them out and went) Finally, some filament oilers, I printed 4 at once (should have gotten a picture of them on the bed... hindsight),but they came out wonderfully, fit together perfectly, and do their job.

As of right now, this printer is working beyond my expectations. There were some things i had to change for my uses though. I use cura, so some of the settings are rather simple, but the ones I go with are as follows: These are still getting tweaked as time goes on, and per filament type. Also, in the config, I removed the ! as we discussed on the Printer Progress thread and adjusted how high the bed starts at by 5mm up, so the springs would provide more resistance, and limit bed wobble more. If anyone else messes with settings, please let me know so I can try it! I love how helpful we've been to each other so far, and I can't wait to keep going forward with it.

I think I almost have my Simplify3D settings dialed in. I FINALLY got my extruder working properly and the stringing is almost nonexistent. Once I know they are almost perfect, I'll post some screen shots and some sample print photos.

Anyway glad to hear that, let me know if you have any other printing issues. Can't wait to see the pics!

I think I finally got the settings about 99% dialed in with Simplify3D. Did a few test prints then went on to the baby groot. Turned out almost perfect!

Wow, that's a very impressive print!!! Not trying to pat myself on the back but that looks incredible! I'm tempted to give simplify3d another shot, but I still just don't see how a $150 slicer can be that much better than a free one like Cura...but maybe it is worth it!

Holy hell that is magnificent! I'm surprised it only took 18 hours! But that came out really nicely, I see you've finally got your settings pretty well dialed in. I'm hoping to print some large prints once I finish up with a few 3Dhubs orders, and perhaps I'll max out my Monoprice mini printer and then print it at the same size on my Eclips3D for comparison, but that will only be 120mm tall so not quite as impressive!
