Updated Config.txt Azteeg X5 V1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 new firmware

Here is my updated v2 config.txt for the newer version of smoothieware (>Jul04,2016). 
Smoothieware did a major rewrite of the firmware making the old config incompatible. Symptoms are that the extruder stepper motor will no longer work with the new firmware. Supposedly this firmware no longer has the S3D bug.

The v2 file is working for the X5 v2.0 board I have with VIKI2 support turned on. Currently v1 is untested as I do not have those boards. Initial report is that the v1 config is working. V3 is tested includes support for PID control on the Heated Bed, turn this off if you are using a relay or SSR. If you want PID Bed control for V2 let me know, I have it working on my V2 board.

If you don't have the VIKI find the following line and set to false:

panel.enable                                 false             # set to true to enable the panel code

I also have the extruder steps/mm calibrated for my machine (stock configuration) you may need to adjust. Look for the following line and adjust as needed.

extruder.hotend.steps_per_mm                    150              # Steps per mm for extruder stepper

And finally rerun the PID tune and adjust the following values or copy over the PID values from your old config.

temperature_control.hotend.p_factor          87.3             #
temperature_control.hotend.i_factor          10.487           #
temperature_control.hotend.d_factor          182.0            #

Save a copy of your original config.txt and rename the following to config.txt and copy to the SD card. Also download the new version of the 'firmware.bin' from Smoothieware.org Github
and stick it on the SD as well.

(Rt. click on link and select 'Save link as')

Give this a try for V1, It is untested as I do not have one.
as above check steps/mm for the extruder and update the PID's

Here is an untested V3 file if someone wants to give it a try.
I don't have a V3 Board so please let me know, as above check steps/mm for the extruder and update the PID's

Here's my config file for the V3 fully tested   config Azteeg V3.txt (21.09 KB) just change the name to config to use. You'll need to change the PID settings with a retune, mine is tuned for an E3D on 24V and a BigBox heated bed.

Thanks, I updated the first post with your file. I did remove "acceleration_ticks_per_second" from your config as it was a recommended change from smoothie.

I am running the latest Smoothie firmware on my Smoothieboard X4 and I used V2 of your config files. My printer moves in both directions when I use Repetier Host to manually move the head around. I have tried switching the motors around and nothing seems to work. It always moves in a diagonal when I manually make it move.

Make sure in the config file you have- arm_solution corexy

It sounds like only one motor is moving as if it thinks its not a corexy.

Hi Afi.

   Please confirm what board that you have? The files listed above are for the Panucatt Azteeg X5. If you have a real smoothieboard then you would have to get a copy of the sample config for that board and configure it for Eclips3D. If you do have a Azteeg then your problem is most likely that you need to play with the wire orientations of the X and Y axis. The Quickstart Guide has a good tutorial on how to figure out the proper orientation.

Yea the reason it didn't work is because I have the actual smoothieboard and not the Azteeg. I took a stock config file and changed it to have the values of the ones here but kept the pinouts stock. If any one has an actual smoothieboard they can use this config file.

Just wanted to add an updated file for the latest version of the firmware updated on October of 2016. I had to update my machine recently due to breaking the sd card, (dumb story) so lost my old config.


Anyway, this is for a Azteeg X5 V1.1 board.
