I opted to start with 24v to save a little money after reading of all the benefits knowing I would try it sooner or later. The supply works fine providing 24v with nothing connected, when the x5 is connected it appears to short as the indicator LED on the supply does not come on, remove the x5 and the lite comes back on. I connected an ATX power supply curious if it would make a difference and it seems to power the x5 just fine, though I have not tried anything functionally as all my components are set for 24v. I have the new v2.0
Has anyone tried running the Azteeg x5 on 24v?

I have my azteeg x5 running on 24v. So far I had to switch out the heater cartridge for the hotted and realized I need to switch out the fan too. Haven't hooked up the new bed heater yet. I think you need to have a lot of things hooked up before it actually will turn on properly.

I have everything except the hot end and heat bed connected. I emailed panucatt, their response was as follows: "Can you try moving the input select jumper to USB and power from USB without anything connected and see if the power led comes on? It is also possible that the reverse polarity diode at the bottom of the board is shorted somehow."
I moved the jumper as suggested and powered the board via USB and it seems to operate, thought I'm not real sure what all the leds are for. Since the USB seemed to work I powered up the 24v supply and the onboard led illuminated as expected. I suppose this is tolerable but I would like to know what I need to do to get everything running on the 24v supply as I would like to be able to run the printer with no pc. I will be reporting this same outcome to Panucatt in hopes of getting this issue figured out.
Carlos, is your x5 running straight from the 24v supply? If so what do you suspect my problem is?

I didn't find any info other then it can be connected, so I just did it as if I were connecting the 12v supply directly. Crossed my fingers and nothing blew up. lol Although I think I might have fried the fan, but not sure why that would be the case. So, I ordered a 24v version. Also i'm using the x5 version 1.1 not sure if that is any different for you. If you have a handy 12v supply it would be worth trying it out, but there should be no reason not to be able to use the 24v version. Could be a bad board.

I tried an ATX supply from a pc and seems to work as intended, the 24v supply only seems to work when the board power jumper is set to usb. Hopefully I'll hear back from panucatt with some more details tomorrow

While waiting for a response from panucatt I decided to try to get everything else set up so I could start printing some parts to mount everything after I get the power situation figured out. After getting the board to power with usb, I connected my heat bed and hot end and inserted the sd card(4gb sandisk) with appropriate firmware and config file loaded. When the board is powered up the leds no longer flash, only the power led is lit, this happens whether the sd card is in the slot or not.

Carlos, you're my hero. There was a washer shorting on my "X" axis endstop, turns out that was my problem the whole time. The board is now operational and I have manual movement of the axis, now just need to get the directions sorted out. Thanks Carolos

That's great! I think Andrew needs to update the build instructions and change out those washers to the plastic ones, I'm sure it's going to happen to a lot of folks when building it.
