I just got my printer working last week... kind of. It works, it did print, but now I'm having issues.
1. z end stop not working correctly?
I started tweaking things in the config and in repetier-host, and now my Z refuses to stop even though the endstop is triggered and keeps crashing into my extruder. I've tried reverting back to the original configs and stuff, but nothing seems to fix my problem. When I run the "Z breakin" it does a couple moves then buzzes, then moves a bit more, then jams the bed into my extruder (until I hit the reset button so for at least 15s the first time). The XY breakin runs like a champ and bounces properly.
Anyone have any ideas? I just replaced my z endstop and ran the m119 test (which does show the endstop working correctly).
I have v2 of the Azteeg mini x5. I am currently using the official configs from the main eclips3d site for the v2 board.
2. z bed only 145mm?
So using the manual control in repetier host, I ran my bed down to the bottom and got 145mm... isn't it supposed to be closer to 200 mm? I assume this is the fundamental problem with my prints not turning out?
3. How do you safely power off the printer? especially in the middle of an error situation.
I've been turning off the PSU... but i keep reading about needing to "power down" the stepper motors before disconnecting the DC. Can someone tell me how to do that (and where the information is because I've looked on panucatt and google and can't find anything). There is a play, reset and a hwboot button on my controller (as far as I know).
4. communications error
I'm not having this problem now, but when I first was getting the printer up and running, I would make it about half way through the XY breakin and the printer would stop printing and stop reptier host would stop responding. I can't remember how I fixed this (assuming I fixed it on purpose and not by accident or getting a random bullseye) so if anyone knows please educate me!
Thanks in advance
michael
